Hartlepool Borough Council are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to work within our 0-19 service, predominantly with our Health Visitors delivering the Health Child Programme and Public Health agenda.

Main duties of the job

As a Public Health Staff Nurse you will support the day to day role of the Health Visitors delivering a family centred, Public Health approach, working with babies, children, families and carers to improve health and tackle inequalities, promoting the best start for life.

You will work in the community supporting families in their own homes, Family Hubs, community and Education settings. Your role will include delivering health promotion, universal and targeted interventions to individuals and groups as part of the 0-19 Early Help Team.

Job responsibilities

To work as part of an integrated locality early helpteam providing an effective high quality service to the local population ages 0-11 and their families

To be a member of a Health Visiting Team andundertake duties as delegated by the Specialist Community Public health nurse

To provide a service which includes healthsurveillance, health promotion, support and advice, primarily to families withchildren under 6 years of age as part of the delivery of the Healthy ChildProgramme.

To work as part of the wider community nursingand primary healthcare team 0-19 team, liaising and working with otherstatutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate

This post will prepare the staff nurse toundertake training in the future if they wish, to qualify as a SpecialistCommunity Public Health Nurse.
