Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to join the Cardiac Physiology Team based at the University Hospital of Wales.

The focus of the role will be providing Reception Services and being the first point of contact for both telephone and direct patient related enquiries.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of reception duties and administrative work, strong organisational skills including an eye for detail and proficient experience of using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The ability to prioritise your workload, process enquiries in a confidential and timely manner and to work effectively in a busy environment with a fast-paced work turnaround is essential for this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE grades C or equivalent in Maths and English

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Customer Service or equivalent or willing to work towards.

Experience

Essential

Previous reception or similar experience.

Desirable

Experience of working in the NHS or healthcare environment. Knowledge of PMS, D&T operating systems

Excellent written and oral communication skills Organisational skills

Understanding of Referral to Treatment Targets for Cardiac Diagnostic Services Understanding of Data Protection and maintaining strictest confidentiality
