An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Works Control Centre Operative to join the Estates Operations Team, based at Raynesway, Derby. Reporting to the Estates Operations Manager, the position will require the successful candidate to act as a contact between multiple stakeholders, and to evaluate, deconflict and approve works in support of estates operations and contractor activities.

The position provides an excellent opportunity for someone already experienced in permit office or SSoW office operations to gain a base knowledge and understanding of nuclear site operations whilst performing a vital role in the business.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

Control the works control centre Manage contractor access to site Provide guidance regarding the Work Control Centre’s procedures, in line with R-R HSE Control of Contractor Control Standard (CS-06) and Licence Conditions Assist in the planning and scheduling of tasks and supporting planning meetings Maintaining statistics on schedule adherence, contractors on site, contractor’s safety performance etc. Working with a continuous improvement ethos to embrace the development of the Works Control Centre’s efficient operation

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in the following:

IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) Strong organisational and time-management skills A team player who can form relationships and influence process conformity Clear written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail Good IT skills (e.g., Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office suite)

Advantageous skills:

Experience of working in a multi-faceted planning role within a dynamic and changing environment Familiarisation with Health and Safety Executive guidelines of Contractor Control or R-R CS-06 Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 Working knowledge of Planned Maintenance Processes Risk and COSHH assessment trained, with knowledge of IOSH/PUWER/LOLER An understanding of the regulations governing the use of Nuclear Licensed sites

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
