Term Time Fixed Term Food Service Assistant

East Durham College are excited to offer a new job opportunity. The job opportunity is for a food service assistant working within the onsite Starbucks for 31 hours a week. This will be at our Houghall Campus in Durham on a term time basis, fixed term basis until 21/05/2025.

The main  responsibility of this role would be to serve internal and external customers in the Starbucks store within Houghall College.

The duties of this role are as follows:

  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Health & Safety and hygiene practices.
  • Self presentation.
  • Excellent customer care.
  • Preparation of hot & cold from a Barista coffee machine. 
  • Preparation of sandwiches, paninis, cakes and scones,
  • Rotation of stock control.
  • Internal & external confectionary, food, drink & non food purchases.
  • Maintaining the Cleanliness & tidiness of the shop (Daily),
  • Sales promotions.
  • Responsible for profitability margins.
  • Maintaining presentation of the shop.
  • Money handling.
