Job Description

Ward Manager - Male Rehabilitation (RMN / RNLD)

Salary: £49,000

Full-Time Hours

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Ward Manager to oversee our client's mental health ward. As the Ward Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care for males with enduring mental illness. You will play a pivotal role in creating a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff. The hospital is a rehabilitation service.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with either RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) or RNLD (Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse) qualification
  • Valid UK NMC Pin
  • Proven experience in mental health rehabilitation and working with patients with enduring mental illness and personality disorders
  • Strong understanding of mental health legislation and its application in clinical practice
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in all aspects of patient care and staff management

Responsibilities
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in providing person-centred care and treatment for patients with complex mental health needs
  • Ensure compliance with mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act, and safeguarding guidelines
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the patient, their families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ward, including staffing, budgeting, and resources
  • Provide clinical supervision, support, and mentoring to staff to enhance their professional development
  • Facilitate effective communication and teamwork among the staff to maintain a positive and inclusive working environment
