Job summary
We are lookingfor an enthusiastic and motivated band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join the Redditchand Bromsgrove Housing, Adaptations and Specialist Equipment CommunityOccupational Therapy team. This is a part time post of 15 hours and we areflexible with working days/hours.
The postholder will be asked to work across Redditch and Bromsgrove and will be basedat Princess of Wales Community Hospital, Bromsgrove.

Main duties of the job
This is abusy and varied role, which requires the post holder to have a flexibleapproach and a calm, professional manner and is one where he/she can work bothindependently and as part of a team in undertaking the duties required for thepost.
This is a community role which encompasses completing OccupationalTherapy assessments for individuals who require support with housing, adaptation,and equipment needs. You will provide interventions which maximise a personsindependence and quality of life. You will hold your own caseload. You willalso support our duty processes and be confident in administration and IT.
Youwill be supervised by a qualified member of staff and be provided with ongoingtraining and support to fulfil your role. You will need to be an autonomous practitioner,using initiative and taking responsibility for you and the quality of yourwork. You will have the opportunity to work alongside different partnerorganisations and professionals. As a team we are proactively involved in educatingstudents and you will be expected to support with this.

Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (or alternative equivalent Level 5 award Higher National Diploma) or Higher Apprenticeship in Assistant Practitioner GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent
Knowledge

Working knowledge of Assistant Practitioner role Awareness of wider healthcare issues
Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats IT Literate Ability to work without direct supervision
