We are currently looking to recruit a QC Microbiologist to join our award-winning business. Based at our site in Heywood , the Quality Control Microbiologist, will form an integral part in the day to day running of the Quality Control Laboratory, ensuring the efficient testing of Neogen's Culture Media product range. This will include assisting with the day to day completion of all laboratory tasks, records and retained samples in compliance within Quality Systems.

Neogen specialises in solutions for animal and food safety offering a diverse range of products and services for the agriculture, food, and Industrial sectors; dairy, building, utilities, infrastructure and automotive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
To carry out routine microbiological testing on culture media according to the Standard Operating Procedures deployed within the Quality System.
Prepare working cultures according to the Laboratory Code of Practice.
Assist in any product investigations and evaluations when required.
Calibrate and monitor laboratory equipment
Prepare finished product samples for physical and performance testing.
Maintain stock levels.
General Laboratory housekeeping.
Skills & Experience required:
You will ideally have a science related degree in relevant or equivalent laboratory experience.
Able to multitask and be organised.
Accuracy when recording and analysing data.
Strong communication and computer skills.
Able to work well as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
