Job overview

We invite applications for this exciting post to provide specialist respiratory care as part of our DAIRS team at UHD.The Dorset Adult Integrated Respiratory Service (DAIRS) provides care to patients with a variety of chronic respiratory diseases. The role is diverse, and the emphasis is on providing compassionate care to patients and their families through admission avoidance, supported discharges from hospital and specialist clinics. The service delivers care to patients in their own homes as well as in the hospital setting so there is an expected level of autonomy whilst working as part of the wider team. The NHS are introducing virtual wards to support more people at the place they call home. Virtual wards support patients who would otherwise be in hospital to receive the acute care, monitoring and treatment they need. This includes preventing admission into hospital and supporting early discharges out of hospital.Base Location: BournemouthInterview Date: TBC Main duties of the job For this post you will be a highly motivated and experienced respiratory specialist nurse, able to work autonomously. You will utilise your enhanced clinical and analytical skills to assess patients with long-term respiratory conditions. For patients requiring acute interventions you will assess their suitability to be admitted to the respiratory virtual ward and work in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to implement safe programmes of care.Full and part time hours will be considered to cover the 7 day service - Mon-Sun, 8am -4pm The role will be primarily based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital but will also require travel to patient’s homes in the surrounding areas, with the potential to work at other UHD sites. A UK driving licence is essential for this position. Working for our organisation Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
