Job summary

This is an opportunity for an experienced obstetrician with significant leadership experience to provide strategic clinical leadership across the Kent and Medway Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS). The post holder will work a wide range of local, regional and national stakeholders to support delivery of the ambition to make services safer, more personalised and more equitable.

The post holder will have responsibility and opportunity to lead and influence quality improvement and transformation programmes across the 4 maternity provider trusts within the LMNS.

Main duties of the job

o Engagement and partnership working with colleagues across the system to drive joint improvement in culture and safety, ensuring that the voice of women and families is a central driver for change.

o A lead role in triangulating and responding to a range of intelligence about outcomes and experience to understand and improve the quality of services, advising on the management of clinical risks and leading data driven improvements.

oProvide clinical leadership, insight and challenge to how system partners address clinical system resilience, sustainability and positive outcomes, and quality and safety of care.

oProvide clinical advice and leadership to support strategic commissioning and transformation priorities across maternity and neonatal services.

oBe a member of the LMNS executive board and other governance groups to provide clinical advice and leadership to inform decision making, and chair clinically focused programme and project groups where strong clinical leadership is key to achieving the outcomes required.
