About the role

Barnsley Recovery Steps provide a wide range of interventions to individuals who require support around drug or alcohol use.  We are now recruiting for a full time HOPE Recovery Navigator to be based in our Barnsley Recovery Steps Service.

The successful post holder will match our organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across Barnsley, engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.
Main Duties for the Role will include:
  • Deliver effective and immediate responses to minimise harm and reduce relapse whilst encouraging individuals to engage with a recovery plan covering all aspects of their life.
  • Support the delivery of an effective Single Point of Contact, assessment and engagement, health liaison, harm reduction, needle and syringe programme, prevention pathways and interventions including BBV within the wider service delivery model.
  • To deliver and support the development and co-ordination of a targeted outreach, in-reach and cross-reach activity, in relation to health prevention and education.
  • Work in partnership with South Yorkshire Police to reduce substance related crime and disorder by deliver interventions with offenders testing positive for Class A drugs in custody. Police clearance is required for the successful candidate.
  • To manage a varied caseload of clients and support them towards their recovery goals. 
Working hours will be 9am-5pm Monday to Friday however may include some evening & weekend working due to the nature of the role.
Driving licence not required - local transport available.
