About the role

Initially, you will focus on the Energy from Waste Contract , requiring tenacity, focus, and drive to achieve the best possible outcomes for LCC. Your first priority will be to review and liaise with stakeholders during on going updates and revisions ensuring best value. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of service area policy, including health and safety, by advising and making recommendations on operational and financial issues concerning the waste service.

Handling contractor enquiries and claims and working with Procurement Lincolnshire and Legal Services Lincolnshire to produce compliant documentation will be part of your routine tasks. You will also closely liaise with our Commercial teams to develop strong networks across the Council from the outset, ensuring this key contract delivers at every level.

In the longer term, you will have the opportunity to diversify your focus across other contracts within the wider team, allowing you to contribute and add value, ensuring the continuous enrichment and development of your role.

About you

While the usual experience, education, knowledge, and technical expertise are essential prerequisites, this new role particularly requires the ability to form and continually develop long-term relationships with both internal and external partners. Your communication, influencing and negotiation skills will be imperative to the success of recreating the Energy from Waste Contract.

About the team

This is a close team where you will be welcomed and supported.  They boast an impressive range of skills and experience, share knowledge and champion each other every step if the way.  Whilst they work collaboratively you will have autonomy and ownership in your role.  You won’t be micromanaged, and your opinions will be welcomed, listened to, appreciated and supported.

Based in the Energy from Waste Facility (EFW) at North Hykeham, this hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a diverse team.  They don’t have designated office days but you can expect to be attending meetings with contractors and suppliers as part of the contract management function, which will require flexibility.  Here at LCC we appreciate hard work as a valuable trait but it is equally important to us you maintain a healthy work life balance and take care of your well-being. We have a team WhatsApp group that we utilise daily to ask each other questions and bounce ideas around, so you’ll always feel connected.
