Purpose of the Role

 

To ensure the in-time procurement of parts and services supporting the locomotive maintenance plans. Working at Colas Rail, you will be allowed to expand your knowledge and widen your skill base.

Within this role, you will interact with many key stakeholders of Colas Rail, for example Finance, Commercial, Production, Engineering and Procurement. The role will require you to maintain a good relationship with all our suppliers whilst maintaining a price index.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Request quotations (via procurement) and raise requisitions for the provision of services and spares.
  • Acknowledge/process the receipt of services (Goods Receipt Notes)
  • Update, maintain and validate Purchase Order Numbers and Supplier Invoices
  • Manage to completion any arising invoice queries
  • Provide support in budgeting, forecasting and period-end reporting
  • Manage the repairable asset list in line with maintenance requirements, ensuring that all items are sent away for repair and/or overhaul in a timely manner.
  • Raise work orders as required
  • To ensure the in-time procurement of parts and services supporting the maintenance plans.
  • Scrutinise external contractors work sheets highlighting any uncertainties to the engineering team.
  • General administrative tasks
  • Maintain a good relationship with all our suppliers whilst maintaining a price index
  • Set up and manage stock balance loads (min/max quantities) to support the maintenance regime
  • Forecast future stock requirements with consideration to quantities needed and lead times
