What will you be doing?

The role is primarily to assist in the collection, cleaning and organisation of data from various sources, but experience will also be gained in multiple business applications.

Our Digitalisation team within DB Cargo UK work as part of the IT department and support any projects. They are the developers and applications creators whose role improves our ability to analyse data and improve efficiency. 

The apprenticeship takes up to 2 years to complete, and offers the chance to gain qualifications, key skills and practical experience in a workplace environment. As an apprentice, you will be given time to complete any apprenticeship course work during work hours.

During your Data Analyst Apprenticeship you will be gaining the following experiences:

Conducting basic data analysis using statistical techniques and a range of different softwear tools.

You will work alongside Business Intelligence Developers and Data Engineers in providing day-to-day assistance to our stakeholders and users.

Supporting the development and implementation of different data models and algorithms.

You will help create reports and visualisations to communicate insight effectively to our stakeholders.

Collaborating with a variety of different team members to tackle analytical challenges and contribute to project success and in meeting the business needs.

What are we looking for? 

This is an Apprenticeship programme and we will be supporting your development at the start of your new career. We don’t expect you to come to us with all the experience, but we do look for some key qualities including:

Being self-motivated in your way of working as well as with your studies.

An understanding that you can work to deadlines both set internally and externally, and able to work efficiently and effectively to meet these deadlines.

You will be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills which will translate well to a working environment. 

You will have a keen eye for detail and will be able to show an analytical way of problem-solving.

Able to work closely with a variety of different teams and colleagues to work towards supporting our users in an efficient and effective way, which helps us achieve both the customer and DB Cargo UK’s best interest.

In preparation for your interview, we would expect you to have completed some research on DB Cargo UK and due to the nature of role, we would like to see some basic understanding of databases as this may be something we explore in the assessment day.

In order to qualify for the technical apprenticeship – Level 4 Apprenticeship, we would require you to have 3 GCSE passes min level 4.
