Welford Ward, refurbished in 2023, is a modern eating disorders unit based at the Bennion Centre, at the Glenfield Hospital for up to 15 adult inpatients with eating disorders. It features spacious living accommodation including access to two enclosed gardens. It is situated within the grounds of, and linked to, a large general hospital. All patients have single room accommodation with separate areas for male and female patients.
Band 6 nurse's help lead our well-established team, offeringsupport, supervision and guidance to less experienced staff.
We provide 24/7 care throughout the year and our staff work shift patterns across days and nights. We are seeking WTE so there are opportunities for both full or part-time posts.
You will workclosely with other Band 6 Nurses, Ward Manager and Team managers to ensure thatthe team is well led and deliver high quality effective nursing care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will demonstrate they possess the same corevalues as our organisation, Compassion, Respect, Trust and Integrity in allaspects of their work.
You will be expected to provide clinical, managerial, and educationalleadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff and take anactive lead in, or facilitate, the development of ward initiatives to improvethe provision of care.
The post holder, in theabsence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, will take responsibility for themanagement of the ward; ensuring the smooth day to day running of the ward andensuring the wards systems and standards are maintained.
