Exciting opportunities have arisen following a review of provision of mental health services for older people at West London NHS Trust. We are in the fortunate position of transforming and expanding our service to meet the needs of older people with mild to severe mental health needs. We are looking for dynamic innovative staff to be part of a team that will work therapeutically to support older patients in their mental health recovery in the community.

We are recruiting one Band 7 Senior Clinical Practitioner in Ealing. This post is based at Ealing Borough. Assessments and intervention are delivered at patients home therefore flexibility is important. Ealing has an excellent public transport links therefore having a car or driving is not essential. Most of our clinicians use the bus on visits. All expenses will be refunded in a monthly basis.

Main duties of the job

The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Nurse to build upon and advance their leadership and managerial skills. The focus of the role is on providing clinical leadership to the Specialist Older Adults Mental Health (SOAMHS) service and in deputise for the team Manager with the day to day running of this service. The focus of the service will be to ensure that patients receive assessment and therapeutic intervention to maximise their independence, safety and wellbeing. The interventions will include education, individual work and group work and will involve working closely with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies, within a multi-disciplinary team. They will hold their own complex caseload of patients.

The post holder will be based in Ealing Community Team and they will be undertaking home visits, meetings at the team base and other community sites.

Registered Practitioner ( nursing ) appropriate to the job role Degree/diploma level qualification supplemented by specialist qualification and/or experience.

Experience
