Arcadis is seeking a Major Programme and Projects Director (MPPD) to support our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) in the United Kingdom & Ireland.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Major Projects Director (MPD) to support our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) in the United Kingdom & Ireland.

As the Major Projects Director UKI, you will lead the pursuit and delivery of major projects across UKI for the Mobility GBA to optimise Arcadis global financial and brand position.

Projects will be highly complex needing to be delivered through several countries and our Global Excellence Center, be multi-year and will deliver benefits across Mobility GBA. Projects managed will be high profile and will attract significant public attention on a national and global scale. Such Projects will contribute in excess of 20m per year net revenue for Arcadis and will typically have a multi-billion Capex budget.

We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

This role reports directly to the GBA Mobility Operations Director with an indirect report to Country Business Area Directors. During the pursuit phase the MPD will follow internal processes which are led by the GBA Mobility Client and Sales Director. The MPD will be a member of the Global Major Projects Leadership team. During the delivery of major projects, the MPD may be a member of the internal Arcadis Steerco for each project, depending on the scale and complexity of the project.

In this role, you will develop detailed program execution strategies to support the development of high-value project and program management pursuits and play a lead role in the pursuit process. You will manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies, both program-wide and in cross-organizational/GBA working, to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction.

The MPPD will work with GBA leadership to review and support high-risk projects and contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve performance. Influence a range of senior stakeholders and manage critical relationships to ensure all parties are informed and aligned about how to deliver program objectives; promote the culture and brand of Arcadis externally.

You will also manage a breadth of the most senior stakeholders, including C-suite and government ministers, and deals with inherent political complexity in the projects. Leads a highly complex grouping of contractors and suppliers, with competing demand and priorities, delivering work across multiple disciplines and multiple geographies.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors or masters degree, and demonstrable experience successfully pursuing and leading major global programs and projects within a multinational engineering or professional services firm Able to demonstrate significant leadership capability and the ability to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose Qualifications in financial/business management, client management, innovation and leadership are highly desirable, as is professional membership of relevant business institutions, industry boards etc. Tangible evidence that you have built a strong market reputation and personal brand through the successful delivery of major programs and projects. Created high performing teams, communicating vision and purpose, engaging others and ensuring aligned objectives.
