Reporting to Director of Automation and Location, The Head Of Automation Strategy UKI Leads a team to the strategy to grow Automation Capabilities, and the embedding and growth of an automation culture across the whole UKI division, ensuring that we enable, empower and excite our people about the opportunities automation and emerging AI capabilities.

Also responsible for building strong working relationships with large automation partners, such as UI Path, IBM Watson, AWS, Google and Microsoft, as well as identifying smaller vendors with emerging capabilities that could help transform our business. A key part of the role is working with these partners to develop solutions that resolve problems, and prototypes that we can learn from quickly.

What you’ll do

  • Creating a strategy to embed automation across the organisation, Setting stretch targets, roadmaps and strategies to further drive automation capabilities in UK&I whilst leading cross divisional teams to ensure delivery of transformational solutions.
  • Works closely with senior leadership to support their business objectives through the utilisation of automation capabilities, ensuring that we assist in the creation of an efficient and effective organisation.
  • Partners with the automation delivery team to embed new technology into the automation teams capabilities, to allow for solutions to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency throughout the business.
  • Drives strong awareness throughout the business of the initiatives undertaken by automation teams and utilise these to further enhance roadmap opportunities.
  • Lead on the development of an automation technology partner portfolio, that minimisies duplication, maximises value, and allows for greater experimentation with emerging technology
  • Develops an approach to maximise the pace of delivery of transformational automation capabilities, utilising the relationships we have with automation technology suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Attract and selects a diverse pool of high calibre people, to ensure the constant evolution of automations capabilities.
  • Makes best use of available resources to achieve results when availability is constrained
  • Coach, mentor and develop key talent to improve leadership capability and results
  • Champions a culture of openness which encourages robust and constructive data driven debates and decision making, learning, experimentation and the creation of innovative solutions.

How you’ll do it

  • Highly ambitious with a drive to succeed and progress to more senior roles at pace.
  • Experience of working within large multinational organisations.
  • Experience in the automation / AI space, delivering large scale, transformational initiatives
  • An existing senior manager in a strategy development / automation delivery position within an international customer obsessed company.
  • Extensive experience of managing and delivering change programmes, at least 12 months of which must be organisational change focused (At least 3 years in project management, process improvement or PMO leadership)
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in a business, technology or automation/ai discipline
