About the role
and about youThe Company Secretary at HRP is a critical role which ensures that we have the right governance in place to deliver our charitable objectives and strategy.
The role will be involved in influencing and building key relationships with the Chief Executive, Chair, Board of Trustees, Executive Team and senior leaders within the business, advising on their roles and legal responsibilities within the charity to ensure good governance. In addition to this you will also be involved in managing important relationships with the DCMS and the Charity Commission.
Working within a small team reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Services, you will be a trusted adviser, coordinate key meetings, advise on content and ensure that decisions/actions are properly recorded and followed up on. You will act as the Company Secretary and lead on the policy management across the organisation. In addition, you will ensure the outsourced legal provision remains fit for purpose and continues to deliver value for money, and that legislative changes are effectively communicated and managed.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong trusted adviser, a diligent administrator, and excellent communicator with exceptional judgment and ability to interact and influence key senior stakeholders.
You will have come from a background within a similar environment, have a sound knowledge of the legislative landscape for UK charities, and significant experience of working with senior leadership groups and boards in a charity or similar setting, where you will have developed a working knowledge of the charity governance code and related best practice.
