Marketing Manager (Leisure) - Bournemouth, Dorset

BH Live is recruiting a Marketing Manager to plan and deliver multichannel marketing campaigns and promotional activities for its leisure centres, sports facilities, and children’s attractions such as Exploria, AirJumpX and AquaDash.

You will cover our BH Live sites in Bournemouth, East Dorset and Portsmouth.  This is a hands-on position with an expectation to directly participate in the effective planning, budgeting, delivery, evaluation and reporting for multichannel campaigns, sales, promotions and awareness activities across leisure centres and attractions. Your measurable KPIs include participation numbers, lead generation and membership sales, recreational income, ROI and customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing , you will be based at BH Live’s Head Office working within the marketing team at Bournemouth International Centre. You will also work closely with centre managers, activity providers, sales, operations, IT and the Director of Leisure and Business Development. Some travel across our leisure centres will be required.

You will:

  • Manage a small team to include task planning, regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, recruitment, training and development.
  • Deliver trackable advertising and multichannel marketing campaigns, providing leisure centres, sporting venues and attractions with promotional and activity collateral, communications and other assets to increase awareness and participation, lead generation and sales. Ensuring accessibility, brand & tone of voice consistency.
  • Create engaging and branded content for multiple channels - in centre, digital, audio-visual, and out-of-home to improve positioning, brand awareness, customer engagement, sales campaigns, and retention. This includes content for channels such as websites, mobile app, social channels, third-party listings, and email communication tools.
  • Manage and coordinate the production of collateral and artwork such as leaflets, posters, brochures, banners, signage, adverts, menus and event promotion.
  • Promote and increase participation in pay-as-you-go activities such as classes, gym, swimming and sports.
  • Increase participation in children’s activities such as courses, classes, term time & school holiday activities, parties, and lessons (swimming, football, tennis and gymnastics), soft play, Exploria play and bounce, inflatable and climbing attractions.
  • Increase awareness, engagement, and participation in community health and wellbeing schemes.
  • Develop positive and professional working relationships with partners, national and local press and influencers.
  • Promote and measure customer satisfaction, retention and feedback.

To be successful you will need:

  • Proficient communication, copywriting, and multichannel marketing skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Experience in planning and delivering multichannel campaigns, working to a budget, and reporting ROI.
  • Experience of managing people, workstreams, developing and delivering content plans and actions, activities, and events ensuring that these adhere to brand guidelines, tone of voice and copyright.
  • Experience in using content management systems and platforms.
  • Hold a professional marketing qualification or relevant experience in the leisure sector.
  • Experience and/or a good knowledge of the leisure industry, health and wellbeing, sport and working in the charitable sector.
  • A full clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
