The shift pattern for this position is 0830-1630 across Mon - Fri.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

Inverclyde Neuro-Rehabilitation Service (NRS) are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to join the specialist interdisciplinary team.

NRS forms part of NHSGGC’s Neuro-Rehabilitation provision. (Formerly known as the Physical Disabilities Rehabilitation Unit/Service.) We provide specialist multidisciplinary Neurological Care and Rehabilitation to patients with neurological and major trauma impairments and cover in-patients and community patients.

This post is based in the Larkfield Unit, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock.

The post is a Band 3 Generic Allied Health Professional, Health Care Support Worker (HCSW). Hours of work are: 29.6 hours / week. Monday to Friday.

This HCSW post is generic and supports the four disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics and Physiotherapy.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate would have experience of a similar role although training will be provided. The job is highly varied and involves working with patients to enable discharge from hospital, achieve independence, autonomy and best patient outcomes in long term conditions. A passion to motivate and support people towards achieving rehabilitation goals is essential. Our HCSWs are also required to work in a range of community settings to enable individuals to achieve meaningful goals. Due to this a car driver is essential. Candidates should have strong communication skills. This includes the ability to work with a range of Health and Social Care staff, families and patients who have physical, nutritional and cognitive-communication needs, often in challenging conditions. Candidates must have competence in using common IT systems and equipment, to contribute to administration duties, patient records and to support specialist communication therapy.
