An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual to take on the role of Team Lead Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in our integrated MSK Outpatient Therapies Department.
Our dynamic and highly regarded team is comprised of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Technicians and Assistants working together to provide a holistic, effective and high quality service.
We treat patients presenting with a variety of trauma and elective musculoskeletal conditions referred by consultants from Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Oncology, Pain Clinic and the Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
This role will suit a dynamic Physiotherapist who has a broad range of clinical and managerial experience. The role involves leading and supporting a large team of Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists as well as Therapy Assistant Practitioners. This is a leadership post and candidates will be required to demonstrate confident leadership skills, advanced clinical reasoning and effective management of complex patients. The role involves clinical and managerial responsibilities.
The team has a close working relationship with the Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Consultants and there will opportunities to work alongside the Orthopaedic Consultants in clinics, further developing your clinical knowledge and skills.
The department is based in Ipswich Hospital which is within East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT). This forms the largest general hospital in the eastern region providing a number of specialist services. The therapy service has a high profile within the trust and thrives on innovation and challenge. Our therapists have taken a lead role in many developments, which are helping to shape the future of patient pathways within the local area.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
oExtensive post registration experience as an autonomous practitioner or focused practice equivalent. oSenior experience in the field of musculoskeletal and/or trauma and orthopaedics specialty. oDemonstrates evidence of ability to identify service improvements and priorities, and instigate improvements/change. oExperience of line management responsibility for therapists oIn-service training and reflective learning in the MSK speciality in addition to ability to educate colleagues, students and a wider multi-disciplinary team. oPrioritisation of own workload and impact on wider team, understanding the pressures of throughput for the Trust. oDirecting patient care. oExperience in audit and/or research.
Desirable
oMembership of SIG. oExperience of working in an integrated therapy service. oPrevious team lead experience within the NHS oEvidence of specific responsibilities committee membership. oLeadership training. oSickness/performance management oTeam Rota's management
Qualifications
Essential
oBSc/MSc Physiotherapy. oHCPC Registered Physiotherapist. oMCSP. oEvidence of continuing professional development including a range of post-graduate courses.
