Job summary

We are pleased to offer this development role to anenthusiastic, committed psychological therapist/psychologist to contribute tothe development and delivery of psychological services in the Psychosis andBipolar Disorder Pathway in Herefordshire. This will be based at the inpatientrehabilitation ward in Hereford (Oak House), with close links with the otherparts of the pathway (EIPS and AOT primarily).

Herefordshire is at the forefront of CommunityTransformation, and Oak House forms part of a highly performing Psychosis andBipolar Disorder Pathway.

Part time working. There is opportunityfor some blended working (on site/from home). Dependent onexperience you will be appointed at band 7 or band 8a. If appointed at band 7,upon successful completion of the development plan you will move to a band8a. Copies of both job descriptions areincluded in the supporting documents.

Main duties of the job

This post is integral to the provision of NICErecommended psychological therapies for people with diagnoses of psychosis orbipolar disorder. You will work alongsidethe Consultant Clinical Psychologist, as well as inpatient rehabilitation team colleagues.

The post holder will provide specialist individualinterventions (CBTpbd and Family Interventions), alongside other models. Thepost will involve offering individual and group psychological therapies,individual and group supervision/reflective practice and consultation withinthe team. There are many opportunities for providing (and receiving) training,as well as working with colleagues across the pathway more broadly. You will beactively supported to develop service initiatives and trauma informed practice,as well as engaging in audit and research as appropriate, in line with keynational and local priorities and with local partners.

Job responsibilities

Behaveconsistently with and promote the values and beliefs of the organisation. Use their initiative,be responsible and accountable for providing a systematic psychology service, specialistpsychological interventions, clinical and research supervision and training toother health and care staff as agreed with the service lead/manager. Receive andactively participate in regular clinical supervision in accordance with goodpractice. Participatein national and regional professional speciality meetings and seminars asappropriate. Meet andmaintain targets within the Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder Pathway. Undertake assessments,formulation, interventions, group, individual and indirect work with clients,staff teams, and families/carers.

Post Graduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent Applied Psychology qualification), as accredited by the Registered as Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC OR equivalent a recorded / registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy Plus Further post graduate qualification OR training and experience in a relevant model of psychological therapy that meets accreditation training standards Significant experience working as a psychological therapist in mental health services with people over the age of 18 years and demonstrating the required competencies Is a member of a professional body, such as BABCP, BPS, NMC upon commencement of the post
