We have an exciting opportunity for a Administrative Assistant to join the team within the Accident and Emergency department at Ipswich Hospital.
You will provide an efficient and pro-active admin support to the Clinical and Operational service management teams within Emergency Medicine.
You will be responsible for carrying out administrative duties, adhering to policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service, and to be able to deal efficiently and courteously with patient and staff enquiries.

Main duties of the job
To undertake the word processing of letters, documents and general correspondence and administration and filing/photocopying relevant copies/record keeping and to formulate straightforward responses on behalf of Emergency Medicine. Prepare documents, agendas and papers required for meetings and devise administrative systems to facilitate recall as necessary. Attend meetings as necessary in order to take Minutes for processing and distribution; there may be an occasional requirement to cover meetings outside of core working hours. To undertake minor project work at the request of Emergency Medicine Management Team, initiating the project and preparing summary reports. To maintain staff records as required Annual Leave, Sickness etc. records. To support quality control processes, and follow departmental policies. Assist in the introduction of new processes and systems. To carry out any other appropriate duties as required by Emergency Medicine Management Teams

GCSE Maths and English (A-C) or equivalent NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Willingness to undertake training to extend skill set to deliver role. Good communication skills Demonstrable interpersonal skills - can work as part of a team. Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.

Demonstrate knowledge of the NHS Excellent typing skills Experience of setting up a successful filing system and diary management system Experience at taking minutes and production of documents related to meetings Computer skills to include spread sheet analysis and manipulation.
