This role involves ensuring the highest standards of care and education for children, complying with all regulatory requirements, managing staff, and fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.Key Responsibilities:1. Operational Management:o Assist the Childcare Manager in the day-to-day running of the childcare facility.o Ensure the facility meets Ofsted and EYFS standards and other regulatory requirements.o Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate child-to-staff ratios.2. Childcare and Education:o Support the development and implementation of age-appropriate activities and curriculum.o Monitor and assess children's development and provide feedback to parents and caregivers.o Ensure the environment is stimulating, safe, and conducive to learning and development.3. Staff Management:o Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising staff.o Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing support and professional development.o Address staff concerns and facilitate a positive working environment.4. Parental Engagement:o Maintain effective communication with parents and caregivers.o Address parental concerns and provide updates on children’s progress.o Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings and events.5. Administrative Duties:o Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental records.o Assist in budget management and resource allocation.o Support marketing and community engagement initiatives to promote the facility.Person Specification:Qualifications:• Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).• Paediatric First Aid certification.• Safeguarding and Child Protection training.• Food Hygiene certification (desirable).Experience:• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a childcare setting.• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a childcare environment.• Experience in curriculum planning and implementation.Skills and Abilities:• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.• Strong leadership and team management abilities.• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.• Proficiency in using childcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Personal Attributes:• Passionate about early years education and child development.• Patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.• High level of professionalism and integrity.• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.• Committed to continuous professional development.Special Requirements:• Enhanced DBS check.• Willingness to undertake additional training as required.• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
