HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER  - FULL TIME, PARSONS

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Environmental Manager to join the Facilities team. You will be responsible for Health, Safety and environmental care across End. UK sites. Implementing policies to ensure we create a safe working environment for all locations, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety measures and ensuring compliance with regulations.    

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities

  • Developing safety policies: Creating and implementing policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment.
  • Risk Assesment: Identifying potential hazards in the workplace and devising strategies to mitigate these risks. Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain records. To include DSE, manual handling lone working, pregnant workers, young workers etc.
  • Compliance Management: Ensuring that the organisation adheres to all relevant health, , safety, and environmental laws and regulations. . Excellent record keeping and ability to negotiate with contractors to 
  • Emergency Response Planning: Creating and maintaining emergency response plans for various potential incidents.
  • Employee Training and Engagement: Conducting training sessions for employees on safety practices and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigating workplace incidents or accidents and reporting findings to appropriate parties.
  • Environmental Management: Implementing strategies for waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
  • Health and Wellness Programs: : Developing programs to support employee health and wellness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly reviewing and updating EHS policies and procedures to improve safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders about EHS matters. Providing specialist advice to the senior team to implement safety change.
  • Manage ESOS reporting and compliance.

What you'll be able to demonstrate

Skills and experience

  • Is a technical ‘expert' in their particular field and as such requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of the of the discipline. Operates at a senior level, with autonomy to make independent decisions to achieve business targets. Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for performance improvement. Demonstrates creativity in applying solutions.
  • Demonstrates leadership and mentors more junior colleagues.  Establishes own milestones and deadlines, team objectives and delegates responsibilities.  Has responsibility for the work of others and the allocation of resources.
  • Performs complex professional or financial activities.  Strong analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complex situations. Looks to remove complexity where possible to focus on priorities. Expert in their professional area and applies this knowledge to the activities of the Company to continuously raise the bar.
  • Has significant impact on the function's overall direction and performance which has a direct impact on the overall company performance. Develops strong partnerships internally and externally to positively impact the customer. 
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the ability to negotiate with a high level of discretion (Internally & externally) with others often at a senior level.
  • Level 5 professional qualifications or extensive practical knowledge gained through experience.
