Job Description: We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our outreach team in Plymouth. This role involves supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in various community settings, helping them to engage with educational and social activities outside the traditional classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to children with SEN in community settings, facilitating their engagement in educational and recreational activities.
  • Assist children in developing social, communication, and life skills, in accordance with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and record the progress of each child, providing regular feedback to parents, teachers, and the SENCO.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment in all community activities.
  • Support the children with any personal care needs, as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education or SEN support are advantageous.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in various community settings.
