Malnutrition in the community remains prevalent, especially among the older population. Join our team of Dietetic Assistant, Assistant Practitioners & Dietitians providing Nutritional Support services to help build up and support the adult population of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.

We are a supportive department with a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) & all training for this post will be provided. Cambridgeshire & Peterborough has a diverse population with a wide range of needs. Parts of the county are highly urban with other parts extremely rural.

We are looking for someone who is able to remain calm in challenging situations, can follow guidance and will work with others to improve the health of their patients. Due to the geography of the county you will need to be able to travel without reliance on public transport, carrying heavy equipment if needed.

Main duties of the job

The main duties are:

Review the dietary intakes of people with or at risk of malnutrition in the community including care homes and people's own homes. Carry out anthropometry MUAC as well as carrying out routine weights with a range of scales including hoist and wheelchair scales. To work with care homes to ensure appropriate nutritional support advice is being followed. To ensure Food First advice is understood and being followed. To advise on the appropriate use of nutritional supplements To be responsible for day to day care/treatment to patients with specific conditions under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, following a prescribed treatment/care plan. Make basic judgements on patients’ response to prescribed treatment/care plans, and report findings to a qualified professional. To assist registered staff, liaise with other health care professionals as required. Working for our organisation
