Job summary

An exiting opportunity has arisen to join our team at the UrgentTreatment Centre in Herne Bay. We are looking for an experienced Receptionist.

We will consider both part-time and full-time applications.

Main duties of the job

Tobe responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and theprovision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greetingand directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

About us

The Urgent Treatment Centre in Herne Bay is open 8:00 till 20:00;7 daysper week.

Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) provide treatment for minor injuries andillnesses that are urgent but not life threatening. They are GP-led and areequipped to diagnose and deal with many of the most common aliments peopleattend A&E for.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:

a.Maintaining and monitoring the appointment system

b.Process personal, telephone and 111 requests for appointments

c.Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with thecallers request appropriately

d.Signpost patients to the correct service

e.Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, teammembers and external agencies

f.Photocopy documentation as required

g.Data entry of temporary registrations and relevant patient informationas required

h.Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

i.Respond to requests for information insurance and solicitorsletters to the Medical Secretaries as per our unit policies.

j.Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

k.Carry out system searches as requested

l.Retrieve and file medical records

m.Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

n.Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

o.Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
