Job summary

Staff Nurse - Ward Margate (Part Time hours)

To provideindividualised nursing care to patients in a compassionate and caring manner

To assess care needsand develop, implement and evaluate these without supervision

To practice inaccordance with the NMC codes, The Code (2018) and any other mandatory ororganisational standards

To participate in andcontribute to the implementation of change strategies aimed at improvingprofessional practice and the overall efficiency of the ward or department

Main duties of the job

Registered Nurse 1st Level Evidence of continual professional development Demonstrates a patient focus approach Experience in a surgical/medical environment with a knowledge and understanding of surgical/medical procedures Commitment to professional development. Job responsibilities

The post holders will be expected towork across all areas of Spencer Private hospitals within their role remit

To contribute to the maintenance of patientcare standards and to assist with the implementation of changes to caredelivery systems, methods and nursing practice in order to bring aboutimprovements in the quality of care

To contribute to the development andimplementation of nursing standards which reflect customer requirements andprofessional best practice

Carry out planned care for a groupof patients without direct supervision providing individualised patient care

Provide professional leadership,advice and guidance within the team, working collaboratively with themultidisciplinary team

Assist and advise staff bothregistered and unregistered in the delivery of patient care

Maintain accurate andcontemporaneous patient records in line with professional standards

Have responsibility for theadministration and custody of medicines in line with Spencer Private Hospitals(SPH) policy and professional standards

Assist in the maintenance ofprofessional standards, highlighting to the line manager when standards are notseen to be met

Uphold the corporate values of SPH

Qualifications

Essential

Diploma or Degree Evidence of continual professional development

Desirable

Teaching and Assessing Course or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Experience in surgical/medical/OPD environment with a knowledge and understanding of surgical/medical/OPD procedures. Delivery of evidence based practice Demonstrates a patient focus approach

One year post registration experience
