The Manchester CCPL - Portfolio Lead - 2 sessions per week ( wte)

NHS GM is pleased to the role of CCPL (clinical and care professional leadership) lead vacancy for recruitment for Manchester vacancies include pan-GM clinical leadership and locality clinical leadership roles across a variety of clinical/specialty areas and represent important roles within the structure of the NHS GM Medical Directorate and Locality clinical leadership teams.

Who can apply: These roles are open to candidates who are currently working in a clinical role or living within the place Greater Manchester.

Role information: The role is for the Manchester locality for 2 sessions per week on contract for services.

Main duties of the job

Purpose of the role

To work proactively across organisational boundaries to improve health outcomes and the way services are delivered, to improve access to appropriate care to reduce health inequalities and gaps in service provision to prioritise MPB and GM workstreams Specifically, to provide clinical leadership for Associate Medical Director(s) within the Manchester Locality by working across interfaces with: NHS GM, including NHS GM Medical and Nursing Directorates, SCNs and NHS GM System Boards Locality partners, including NHS, Council and VCSE

To support delivery of the themes and priorities of the NHS GM Strategic Plan and national policies as outlined

The portfolio CCPL roles will include areas: Cancer, CYP. Areas will be agreed with Manchester AMD(s).

Key responsibilities

Working with other clinical and care professional leads to deliver the Clinical and Care Professional Leadership Principles in the locality Lead the development and delivery of services, working with managerial, political and clinical and care professional leaders across the ICS and locality, supporting the delivery of quadruple aim whilst keeping quality and safety at the heart of everything we do Lead improvement in outcomes for our population health and wellbeing through a lens of prevention and inequality Put the patient at the centre of the work we do, and build key relationships with patients, service users and carers Be an active part of the clinical and professional workforce in the locality, including locality clinical and professional forums Engage with wider clinical networks for example, with Primary Care Networks and Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs) - and across the health and social care system Represent the locality and CCPL voice in Greater Manchester Regardless of the post holders primary employment or professional grouping the Clinical system lead will act as a CCPL leader, not on behalf of their employer or professional group Promote clinical leadership that is reflective of our population and support in the identification and recruitment of a pipeline of future clinical and care professional leaders Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Be a Clinician registered with a recognised Clinical Professional Body Formal Management Qualification and / or proven and significant leadership experience.

Knowledge

Essential

Be working in a Clinical Role within Greater Manchester Detailed knowledge and understanding of NHS Health and Care services at a National, Regional and local level Good knowledge of the health, care and local government landscape and a good understanding of the social determinants of health and current evidence on practices which reduce health inequality

Desirable

Experience of working at a Senior level within the NHS and considerable senior experience of leading in integrated health and care settings. Significant experience of leading and delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment. Experience and track record of managing very senior relationships across multiple partner organisations
