An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 mental health nurse, to join the Care Home Liaison Service. The service operates Monday to Friday until The post holder will work within a team of mental health practitioners based in Oldham offering mental health assessment, treatment and behavioural/occupational care approaches, training and advice and support within the Oldham Care Homes and intermediate care facilities. The post holder will liaise with both primary and secondary care services, the wider health and social care footprint, carers and families within their liaison role.

Main duties of the job

Thorough understanding of dementia and the impact this has on care providers as well as the individual Awareness of relevant mental health legislation ie MHA/MCA/DoLS Experience of MDT working Proven experience in delivering non-pharmacological interventions in dementia with the aim of reducing medication use.
