Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Care and Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Retirement Living Service, Wimborne House, Kent.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Delivering a high level of personalised care and support and encouraging our customers to live as independently as possible
  • Assisting customers with shopping, cleaning, and laundry tasks
  • Helping customers to arrange and attend appointments e.g., with their GP
  • Assisting and encouraging customers to access and maintain a level of integration into the wider community
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records
  • Carrying out security checks during the night within the building
  • Assisting to customers’ care/support needs during the night where applicable
  • Dealing with customer emergencies during the night and seeking appropriate medical support
  • Carrying out archiving and other allocated tasks were applicable

 

Skills and experiences:

  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
  • Personalised approach to care, ideally with experience of working in a similar care related role
  • Some experience of basic health care and hygiene standards
  • Enthusiastic and person-centred with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication skills with an approachable nature
