Job summary
The post holder will provide specialist trauma-informed mental health support, including multiagency consultation and contribution to assessments, risk, and care planning, for young people with complex difficulties that are placed in the Specialist Hampshire Residential Home, Hockley House. They will work with Specialist CAMHS Teams, to implement therapeutic care plans and support residential staff to use Dyadic Developmental Parenting/Practice to help young people with complex trauma to feel safe. They will contribute to mental health training and implementation of therapeutic parenting for all residential staff.
Main duties of the job
To be confident in working within a trauma informed approach, particularly DDP and to role model trauma informed therapeutic care, using DDP skills.
To have the ability to work with young people, carers, and professional network in times of distress, anxiety, and risk.
To work in partnership with other agencies in assessment, care planning, risk management and transition out of the home
To model and support a trauma informed PACE approach with the staff group that facilitates safe and effective therapeutic care.
To build confidence in the staff group in working with complex trauma, neuro diversity and risky behaviours
Assist in the induction of new staff, modelling a PACE approach.
To facilitate training and reflective practice for staff to promote skills and development of the team.
Ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant Trust policies, procedures, and NICE guidelines.
Promote the young person participation through regular feedback individually and in care planning forums, to improve care and practice.
To ensure that up to date written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust/Local Authority standards.
To provide specialist reports when required.

Essential
* Professional qualification * Diploma in Mental Health Nursing * Registered Nurse, Allied Health professional, with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role. * Evidence of continuous professional development

* Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
Experience
Essential
Knowledge/Experience * Significant post qualifying experience in relevant service area. * Experience of working alongside people with severe mental health problems particularly in their acute phase of illness * Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team * Experience of conducting clinical assessments including risk assessments * Experience of partnership working * Understanding of clinical governance

* Experience of working within the CPA process * Lived experience of mental health issues
