Security Operations Manager

Securitas is on the lookout for a Security Operations Manager who will ensure seamless daily operations of our security contract, delivering top-notch service that meets both client and Deputy branch manager standards. Utilising the Securitas QMS process, measuring and reporting performance at monthly KPI meetings, demonstrating our commitment to excellence.

Working Monday to Friday (50 hours per week)
Job Opportunity
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the daily running of the contract, by undertaking timely recruitment and training for staff to meet contract requirements and undertaking any performance management or disciplinary action in accordance with the Employee Handbook and the Branch Manager.
- Accountable for liaising with the Support Team to gain accurate advice and acting within current legislation and best practice in all aspects of employee relations. Accountable for undertaking regular staff appraisal and providing coaching and counselling where necessary to all staff.
- Accountable for ensuring cover for all cover requirements both core and adhoc along with holidays and unplanned absences in line with contractual agreements and escalating any deficiencies immediately.
- Responsible for monitoring overtime, sickness and holiday accrual, WTD and rest periods along with, providing reports, and statistics where required.
- First point of contact for all pay and benefit problems for staff based within the contract, and responsible for ensuring the swift resolution to any queries where necessary, in conjunction with the DBM.
- Responsible for monitoring all contract expenditure in conjunction with the DBM, including costs associated with service, uniform, training, etc to ensure alignment with budget. Also responsible for assisting with the preparation, presentation and negotiation of materials for contract and budget renewal as required.
- Accountable for the supervision of the 24-hour manned guarding services and foot patrols with a high level of efficiency. Carrying out random checks of the performance of all staff, in accordance with the assignment instructions and emergency procedures, including those on night or weekend shifts.
- Accountable for maintaining and enforcing physical security procedures and policies in accordance with Assignment Instructions for the sites, including the supervision of alarms, CCTV, access control and other protective systems.
- Responsible for co-ordinating responses to emergencies/out of hours issues as part of an account-based Duty Manager system
- Accountable for fostering and maintaining positive and professional partnership with the client and clients tenants including attending regular Customer Liaison meetings with the BM / DBM.
- Responsible for supervising and co-ordinating special events and routine assignments.
Essential Skills
Essential Criteria:
- Right to Work in the UK with a 5-yar checkable history
- Current, valid SIA licence
- 5 years experience in a supervisory or management position
- Strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to negotiate and deal with sensitive and confidential matters using tact and discretion
- Competent in MS Word, Excel and E-Mail (Outlook)
- Adaptable and responsive in the face of changes in priorities, plans and schedules
- Live within a reasonable commute - you must be able to travel to the centre of Edinburgh for a 7am start, including on Public Holidays
