Main duties of the job

The Senior Administration Officer is a member of the Outpatient/RDAC Administrative Team, covering the clinics, preparation and reception areas. He/She will adopt a professional and caring attitude with a polite and courteous manner in all aspects of communication. A uniform will be worn at all times to ensure a neat and professional appearance.

The post holder will support both the Administration Manager and the Deputy Manager whilst providing a supervisory role to the OPD/RDAC Administration Officers.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To cover the radiotherapy desk and record patient arrival time, liaise with radiographers and nurses to ensure optimum efficiency within the department. (Chelsea branch only) To work within clinics assisting nurses and doctors to ensure the smooth running of the clinic. To ensure all clinic documentation and results are ready for the clinic. To re-organise appointments at the request of patients or medical staff and to inform patients where necessary. To book appointments for clinics within the Royal Marsden Foundation Trust and any other outside hospitals when requested. To be responsible for ensuring that all out patient procedures are entered on PPROCS. To provide a scanning system for all documents of importance at the end of each clinic and to ensure they are accurately recorded. Deal with departmental correspondence in an efficient, timely and appropriate manner. To receive and send faxes on behalf of the teams/service. To take appropriate messages, recording details accurately.
