Job summary
A wonderful opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic team in delivering clinical research to the people of Luton, Essex and Hertfordshire. This role will support the running of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Portfolio studies.
If successful, you will learn and support in the management, co-ordination and facilitation of research studies across specialties including Mental Health, Diabetes, Asthma and Frailty.
The role will involve identifying and recruiting participants to studies as well as providing clinical support such as performing ECG's, Venepuncture and basic lab skills, as well as obtaining and managing quality research data in accordance with study protocols.
You will also maintain the team website and manage the monthly bulletin and newsletters. You will actively promote research among clinicians, service users and non-NHS settings.
You will be well supported by a skilled and passionate Multi-Disciplinary Team and opportunities for CPD relevant to the role will be available.
Please note that the research teamwork across Luton, Essex and Herts in GP practices & community settings so being able and willing to travel is an essential requirement.
Main duties of the job
To maintain consumable stocks per research study. To assist the R&D/ Primary Care team in the administration of research studies, including setting up and maintaining site files for each study. To report all accidents, incidents or near misses and dangerous situations using the Trust DATIX system. To ensure patient confidentiality and conform with the Data Protection Act as appropriate. To be able to use the laboratory information system, internet and email and other software packages as required. To communicate and liaise with all users of the service. To be able to take notes for meetings and set up meetings for the Team.
