JobSummary:

Weare looking for four exceptional Project Manager 3 to join ourProgrammes Directorate and work within the Product Migration andLegacy System Retirement (PMLSR)programme.

This programmeis focussed on reducing organisational risk and complexity byretiring legacy systems and migrating to alternative means ofproduction and dissemination as the new Met Office supercomputercomesonline.

Weare seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and delivercomplex projects within time cost and qualityconstraints.

Youwill manage a moderate to high complexity project from initiationto completion using Agile and Lean practices while ensuringeffective governance and stakeholderengagement.

Therole also involves overseeing thirdparty suppliers driving cloudtransformation initiatives and ensuring the realisation of businessbenefits.

KeyDuties/Accountabilities

ProjectDelivery: Lead and deliver projects in alignment with theoverarching programme goals ensuring timely costeffective andhighqualityoutcomes.

ProjectManagement: Provide daytoday management and leadership for theproject team. Oversee project with strong leadership and managementcontrols for complex projects classified within the ProjectComplexity Delivery Framework(PDCF).

Agile &Lean Practices: Coach and lead software development teams in Agileand Lean methodologies ensuring efficient adaptive and iterativeprojectdelivery.

LifeCyclePerspective: Apply expertise across multiple phases of the productlife cycle recognising the right timing for progress and keydeliverables. Collaborate with other Agile delivery operationsthroughout the project life cycle engaging relevant stakeholders atappropriatestages.

Project Controls& Governance: Design and implement the project structureand organisation at each stage. Establish project controls applydelivery methodologies and manage transitions between phasesensuring a smooth handoff into BusinessasUsual(BaU).

Business CaseDevelopment: Draft and develop the Business Case in collaborationwith specialists ensuring a robust foundation for project approvaland.

BudgetManagement: Develop and track project budgets ensuring thatdelivery stays within the agreed financialconstraints.

ResourceManagement: Identify and deploy necessary skills and resources inconjunction with the Programme Manager. Manage a mediumsizedproject team ensuring effective resourceutilisation.

BenefitsRealization: Ensure the delivery of the Business Case benefits andoutcomes. Monitor longterm benefits and develop a BenefitsRealisationStrategy.

StakeholderManagement: Identify manage and maintain strong relationships withinternal stakeholders and secure seniorlevel support. Occasionallymanage external stakeholderrelationships.

Risk &Issue Management: Proactively identify assess and monitor projectrisks and issues developing mitigation strategies and escalating asneeded. Manage project interdependencieseffectively.

Governance& Assurance: Support strong governance frameworks reportingregularly to the PMO and Business Teams. Engage with assurancereviews and gateway processes ensuring recommendations areimplemented.

EssentialExperienceRequired:

Experience withProject Management isessential.

EssentialQualificationRequired:

PRINCE2Practitioner and/or APM (Association for Project Management) PMQCertificate and/or equivalent project related experience inWaterfall or Agile methodologies with proven ability to completeprojects according to outlined scope budget and timelineisessential.

Additionalinformation tonote:

Working hours:40 hours perweek.

The rolerequires a SecurityClearance.

The role isHybrid. There may be the requirement to attend programme meetingsand project meetings with perhaps 12 every sixmonths.
