Your next role

In this role you will orchestrate and lead the change programmes which result from the development of our Specialist discipline groups. These groups consist of a variety of disciplines with varying levels of distribution across our global regions.

You'll support the Global Specialist Discipline Director (GDD) who is a member of the Global Leadership team (GLT) and you will sit on the global specialist discipline board alongside those who lead and represent Specialist Disciplines for each region, including the US, UK, Europe, Middle East, India and Asia-Pac. 

Ultimately you will drive the strategic agenda (The Company -year strategy) to grow and improve our Specialist disciplines globally, focussing on Europe and the US initially, sharing best practice from the UK as an already established group of Specialisms. 

Currently our Specialisms comprise the following disciplines;

Acoustics & AV Analytics and Crowd Dynamics Asset Consulting  Information Management Facade Engineering Fire Engineering Inclusive Design Laboratory Consulting Lighting Security Technology Vertical Transportation

The role will also drive the global quality agenda via a series of Regional Discipline Reviews which you will organise and curate. 

From both the Company -year strategy and the Regional Discipline Reviews, change programs will emerge which you will own on behalf of the Global Discipline Director. The aim of these is to improve our entire business across a number of measurable elements which are broadly captured below:

Creating global communities of practice for all disciplines/themes in order to: Enable better resource/work-sharing.  Build capability. Enable global careers. Developing and deploying global propositions/thought leadership for each discipline's 'brand'. Developing and executing knowledge management strategy, tools and practices. Assisting in building an advisory proposition ( alternative business models), which will include technology platforms & capabilities. Leading transformation and change in order to embed sustainability into all we do. Leading a global innovation and improvement process for specialist disciplines. Developing and deploying a global digital/technology strategy for specialist disciplines. Strengthening our methods/approaches in the identification and pursuit of large opportunities. Setting global standards and driving quality assurance.  Key Duties Authoring business plans and driving change through change programs in order to ensure our global Specialist disciplines are of a high and consistent quality and that our service offers are appropriate to our global market opportunities. Work with respective Specialist Discipline Leaders in each region to organise and lead on design reviews, providing a plan for each Discipline, driving actions appropriately via change programs or the monitoring of the discipline work towards their plans. Support each Specialist Discipline Lead to help them improve their Discipline in relation to overall profitability, growth and technical capability. Identify trends and analysis through market research to assist the Disciplines in their strategic plans. Provide analysis for each region with agreed action on specific areas they want to grow. Support with the attraction and recruitment into these disciplines.  Acting as an inter-disciplinary ‘change maker’ – driving integration across disciplines through projects, shared innovations, and instigating / leading interdisciplinary workshops or working groups on relevant topics - Net Zero, Digital, Social Value, etc.  Taking a data-driven and technology-first approach to increase efficiency, collaboration, and innovation. Your skills & experience Experience in the built environment design and construction industries, operating at a senior level.  Proven experience operating in a multidisciplinary environment, ideally with a strong technical background in one of our existing specialist disciplines. Strong understanding of profit and loss accounts with an ability to derive insights from the data contained within. Ability to author business plans. Ability to devise and drive change programmes.
