Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Carbon and ESG team, as an Associate Director in our rapidly growing Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Croydon, Glasgow, Bristol, Dublin offices (although other offices can be considered), as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. Here’s what you’ll do: 

We are seeing an increase in demand for climate risk assessment and associated adaptation and resilience strategies.  The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Strengthen our position as a leader in climate risk assessment and adaptation strategies for infrastructure and business clients in the UK and across the European region. 
  • Working with the practice leadership to develop our climate change resilience service offerings with practical and viable solutions for clients. 
  • Contribute to the delivery of our ambitious business plan; growing our share of the market in infrastructure and wider business resilience and climate adaptation by winning work with new/existing clients in the UK and across the EMEA region. 
  • Support our infrastructure and urban design teams deliver more climate resilient projects. 
  • Lead and deliver commercially successful projects that maintain the high-quality professional outputs that we are known for.
  • Develop talent within the team through line management and mentoring and support the upskilling of our colleagues on climate change resilience and adaptation. 
  • You will be supported by your line manager with regular mentoring and in continuing your professional development.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? 

Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Experience in developing climate change resilience adaption strategies at an organisational level.
  • Experience in climate risk assessment of infrastructure systems and assets, including developing/designing adaptation and resilient solutions (incl.  engineered and natural solutions) for infrastructure. 
  • Experience across a range of infrastructure sectors: transport, water/wastewater, waste, energy, urban infrastructure, etc.   
  • Proven track record in winning and delivering infrastructure, urban/regional and/or business focused climate risk assessment and adaptation strategies both in the UK and overseas. 
  • Experience with climate change mitigation and adaptation projects and strong understanding of the role that infrastructure interventions, spatial planning and governance play to increase sustainability and resilience of development
