Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Plastic Specialist Dressings Nurse in the outpatient team based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To provide Outpatients a plastics dressing clinic focused on patient assessment, management, advise and monitoring. To actively participate in educational interventions to patients encouraging holisticpatient care. To provide specialist nursing contribution and professional advice to the clinicalmanagement of patients wounds, to patients and other health professionals To liaise with the clinicians both Plastic Surgeons and other specialities who referpatients to the clinic regarding the appropriate management of individual patients Documentation of all actions and conversations from the clinic, using evolve Management of discharges and decisions to follow up using Medway.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

Degree in related field (or equivalent experience) RN (adult)

Completion of appropriate management and leadership programme

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively communicate on the telephone and face to face in English Managerial and leadership ability Knowledge of plastics dressings

Desirable

Knowledge of health and safety issues and policies Experience in researching improvements and developments in desired field.

Experience of teaching Trained Nurses, Health Care assistants and students Experience in wound care and plastic dressings

Experience of working in an outpatient setting.
