Job summary

We are seeking highly motivated and organised Assistant Psychologists to support the work of our Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists in our CMHTs in Luton. The role will be critical to supporting the provision of psychological therapies within the teams and of community-based psychoeducational and skills groups. There are Quality Improvement (QI) projects running in the teams and involvement in these projects as a member of the QI project team is integral to the role.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of supporting and facilitating groups under supervision. They will also have a strong academic record with excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent IT literacy skills and skills in data collection and evaluation. We are also looking for people who are able to engage positively and sensitively with people with mental health difficulties and their support networks. The ability to work collaboratively with other professions is a central part of the post in order to provide holistic care within a biopsychosocial model.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

An approved qualification in psychology conferring eligibility for graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society, with either a Bachelor's degree (Class or higher) or a Bachelor's degree (any class) together with a higher Degree. OR A Bachelor's degree (Class or higher) AND evidence of psychological therapy or counselling training.

Desirable

Post graduate training in psychological therapies

Experience

Essential

oExperience of working in a mental healthcare setting (paid or voluntary).

Knowledge
