Job summary
To work with the Clinical Risk Team, and the Head of Midwifery in the delivery of the corporate agenda on risk management.
To promote and facilitate effective clinical governance, risk management and quality assurance within the clinical directorate.
To work with the Senior Matron Neonatal Services to manage the Datix system and provide expertise to ensure that the administrative requirements of the incident management process are met.
To facilitate the delivery of clinical governance processes within the service to deliver on all aspects of the risk management and clinical governance agenda.
To represent the service, the Division, and the Trust at internal and external meetings under the supervision of the Clinical Risk Manager.
Main duties of the job
Coordinate and promote the Neonatal risk management process.
Collate incident statistics and monitor trends from adverse incidents.
To participate in the delivery of the Division plan for health and safety, and clinical and non-clinical risk assessment as determined by the Trust and Division policies and guidelines, including the development and implementation of action plans.
To be involved in the management of serious incidents in line with the Trust's guidelines.
To oversee national and local service evaluation, review, and audit.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.

Essential
oCurrent NMC registration. oRegistered Nurse/Midwife. oClinical risk management training/experience. oMentorship/preceptorship trained. oEvidence portfolio of NMC revalidation requirements. oNeonatal QIS oNLS certification oSafeguarding children level 3 oEducated to degree level or evidence of working towards.

oDemonstrable track record of achievement in the last three years, linked to the quality agenda in a healthcare environment oKnowledge of Neonatal issues in the wider context of the NHS. oSuccessful change management in the healthcare setting. oSuccessful achievement of projects through working closely with clinicians.
