TheRegistered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to customers andfamilies. The focus is on independent collaborative and delegatednursing functions as described in standards and competenciesspecific to the assigned service area. The scope of practice mayinclude the care of neonates infants children young adults adultsand older adults throughout the life cycle. The RN executes theStandards of Nursing Practice including assessment; nursingdiagnosis; outcome identification; planning; implementation; andevaluation. The RN develops and revises the customers plan of carecoordinates care among disciplines and delegates activities toother customer care providers as appropriate. The RN participatesin shared accountability and decisionmaking for nursing practices.Through active participation in practice and by implementingpersonal leadership qualities and skills the RN defines implementsand improves practice standards and the environment of care andpromotes remarkable customer care.

Variation ofduties may result based on the assigned customer care unit(s). Thismay include differences in the specific clinical skills required ofthe RN. Unitbased skill lists outline expectations beyond thehousewide RN requirements.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
