The Registered Staff Nurse (RN)provides holistic care to customers and families. The focus is onindependent collaborative and delegated nursing functions asdescribed in standards and competencies specific to the assignedservice area. The scope of practice may include the care ofneonates infants children young adults adults and older adultsthroughout the life cycle. The RN executes the Standards of NursingPractice including assessment; nursing diagnosis; outcomeidentification; planning; implementation; and evaluation. The RNdevelops and revises the customers plan of care coordinates careamong disciplines and delegates activities to other customer careproviders as appropriate. The RN participates in sharedaccountability and decisionmaking for nursing practices. Throughactive participation in practice and by implementing personalleadership qualities and skills the RN defines implements andimproves practice standards and the environment of care andpromotes remarkable customer care.
