I work on behalf of a fantastic special school based in the heart of Exeter who are seeking an experienced Art Teacher to join their team. Our school provides outstanding education and support for students with special educational needs aged 11-17.  Commencing in September, this is a temporary position for cover within their Art and Design curriculum. The ideal candidate will be able to teach art to GCSE level.


 

Who the school are looking for:


 

  • Confident at teaching art up to GCSE level
  • Ideally hold QTS or have UK based school experience
  • Confidence in teaching across KS3 - KS5
  • Commitment to getting involved with overall school life
  • Previous experience working with SEN is desirable
  • Solid understanding of the UK national curriculum
  • Nurturing, resilient and patient individual
  • Someone who adopts the relational approach to their work
  • Able to establish and maintain strong relationships with both students and staff


 

You will use relational and trauma-informed approaches to support the young people who all have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). The school uses a variety of methods to engage their learners, both inside and outside the classroom. Therefore, if you are a creative and outgoing individual, we would love to hear from you
