District nurses make a difference everyday to the lives of the people they visit at home and in residential care homes. They provide increasingly complex care for patients and support for family members. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for work. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. 

The service operates 7 days per week, 8am to 6.30pm. Full or part time (minimum 22.5 hours) roles are available. Annualised hours contracts will be considered.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Registered General Nurse (adult). Educated to degree level or equivalent NMC Registered

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

Knowledge around long term conditions and their management. Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable criteria

Previous Community Services experience.

Technical expertise/competence

Essential criteria

Demonstrates an understanding of local and national issues influencing the delivery and development of health care. Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of evidence based care. Demonstrates an understanding of the Clinical Governance requirements. All new starters have a thorough induction process, both local and Trust wide, which aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
