Society is in your hands, what are you waiting for?
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in either Manchester, Edinburgh, or Glasgow.
Our energy infrastructure teams are recognised industry leaders and operate across several markets within the diverse landscape of energy generation and distribution. We work for a range of clients including energy developers, operators, and contractors. We use the latest design software and techniques to produce innovative and efficient design solutions for our clients.
What does the role involve?
Working as a Senior Engineer in the Energy Infrastructure team we will offer you exposure to varied project work, operating both client side and in a design and build environment. Engaging with our clients in partnership to develop the most effective design solutions for projects that help meet the challenges of net zero emissions.
You will undertake (engineering) design and development through the application of proven techniques and procedures to develop appropriate solutions to customer problems including:
- Undertaking and leading significant elements of the detailed design, such as drawings, specifications, reports and calculations, to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
- Working in both supervised and unsupervised environments ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and delivered in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company’s IMS, and current H&S legislation requirements.
- Ensuring that solutions meet client needs and that expectations are met or exceeded.
- Working in close collaboration with team members of other disciplines and having an appreciation of their role.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
- A relevant degree (or other suitable qualification and associated experience) and either have or be close to achieving a relevant professional qualification.
- Strong experience of design software packages and a sound understanding of their use in the design process for BIM.
- Experience of undertaking design particularly of steel and concrete structures.
- Good organisational skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the energy sector (advantageous but not mandatory).
- An awareness of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- A good all-round understanding of quality management systems and processes.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll experience an inclusive, friendly and flexible working environment where colleagues are encouraged to grow and develop. A meaningful job where you’ll help to transform society by being a trusted consultant to our clients.
If you believe you have the skill set required, are keen to join a business with genuine opportunities for career progression, then we’d love to hear from you.
