B7 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist Maternity Leave Secondment/Fixed Term opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time B7 fixed term/secondment post for one year, working from Neuro Out-Patient base at Blue Bird Lodge, Ipswich, in Suffolk providing specialist Neurological therapy support for community residents of East Suffolk.

The current post holder has developed strong links with community health and social care providers to meet the needs of neurological impaired adults at home, through advice, support and signposting to appropriate resources in line with NHS Long Term Plan (2019).

This role requires excellent communication skills, holistic view and sound neurological knowledge.

Working closely with Neurological Out Patient department, spasticity clinic and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams across East Suffolk it is an opportunity to improve the quality of life for people with neurological long term conditions.

Due to the complexity of the client base, presenting with a wide range of physical, cognitive and positional challenges applicants from Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy would be considered.

Driving Licence is essential for this role. Commencement early August.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist clinical leadership to therapists across the community teams in East Suffolk, with a focus on complex neurological presentations. To provide highly developed specialist assessment and treatment of patients with diverse and complex neurological presentations within outpatient clinics and community settings. Provide skilled therapy clinical expertise with specialised knowledge in Neurological conditions and long term management. To provide professional leadership involving recruitment, supervision, appraisal and support and development of staff To promote high standards of professional practice and the leadership of delivery of quality care within outpatient and Community settings. Plan and provide highly specialised training/education programmes for nurses, therapists and other disciplines. Maintain a high level of awareness of relevant research trends and national recommendations regarding neurological rehabilitation and long term condition management. To support the professional lead and team leads in delivering Neurological therapy as part of a seamless patient pathway for prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, care and palliation in the community To provide high quality expertise as part of the wider neurological management services.

Experience

Essential criteria

•Relevant experience of working with a neurological •Variety of post registration clinical Neurological experience with at least three years post registration experience. •Expert clinical skills in the care of patients with a Neurological condition. •Complex caseload management and discharge planning •Multi agency and collaborative working •Service/Practice innovation and Change Management •Evidencing and auditing practice •Professional leadership and development of staff •Facilitating training and education •Documented evidence of CPD

Desirable criteria

Experience of working with patients who have complex neurological conditions and multi-pathologies Experience of working with other agencies outside the NHS Experience of research, audits and service developments Experience of management or education roles Experience of Project leadership Experience of Operational management

Qualifications

Essential criteria

•Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy & HCPC registration •Evidence of relevant post-graduate experience/CPD •Willingness to complete Non-medical prescriber course
