Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible, hardworking and caring Imaging Assistants to join our friendly and well supported Ultrasound team at Newham University hospital which are part of Barts Health NHS Trust.
As a member of our busy and dynamic department your central role would be to provide the highest quality care for patients referred to our service.
You would do this by assisting the Sonographers and Radiologists with the provision of a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including: General Abdominal, Gynaecological, Head and Neck, Musculoskeletal and Neonatal Hip ultrasound examinations. You will also assist with medical procedures such as biopsies and musculoskeletal steroid injections.
This is a full time Imaging Assistant post ( hours per week) however part time hours will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
As a member of our busy and dynamic department your central role would be to provide the highest quality care for patients referred to our service.

You main duties would be to assist with the organization and care on the in-patient ultrasound service.
In addition you would provide clerical and reception support.

You should be caring and compassionate with good interpersonal skills. It is in the nature of the work that our patients are often upset and anxious when they come to us - you will need to give explanations and instructions in a way that is understood and is also friendly and welcoming. You will need to be organised and work to a strict methodology; be able to follow procedure but also capable of thinking on your feet. You should be good at starting jobs and seeing them through to completion. Previous experience in healthcare in a similar setting will be an advantage, as will experience of receptionist duties and knowledge of clerical practices. The post holder must be flexible, adaptable to change, prepared to embrace workforce developments and contribute to efficient service delivery through the highest standards of safe and compassionate care. You must be enthusiastic to learn, expand and share your own skills, and train fellow colleagues and students.
