About the role

We are currently looking to recruit for a Waking Night Specialist Support Worker based at our specialised Mental Health Rehabilitation. The Elms House. The role will be based in Shrewsbury to provide recovery-focussed support to individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs, working as part of a 24 hour service. Demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding in line with policy and procedure you will support customers with life skills and empower them to build successful relationships within their community as they develop skills to better manage their health and well-being and increase levels of independence as they move through the service.

The role will involve supporting customers during the Night if required who have enduring Mental Health diagnosis, promoting rehabilitation and independent living skills. Other tasks and roles will include, supporting with medication, updating care plans and risk assessments, recording and monitoring support needs and working within Partnership with the NHS and Social services. The Wake Night staff member will also be responsible of ensuring the safety of the building and customers in which we support including having an active role within office auditing, processing of information and supporting colleagues and the Management Team and working in partnership with our colleagues in the NHS and Social services.

About you

Organised and reliable Knowledge of Adult Safeguarding. Able to work flexibly within a 24hr Rota system, which will include weekend working A high level of professional integrity Committed to maintaining our high standards of support A working knowledge of Mental Health diagnosis The ability to plan effectively to meet the needs of the service Good working knowledge of Microsoft IT applications Communicate effectively; written, electronic and phone Medication awareness and experience. NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent Ensuring confidentiality relating to customers and staff. Solving problems and using own initiative Confident Lone Worker High standard of record keeping ensuring accuracy and inclusive person-centred support, i.e. daily notes, handover records and incident reports
